3rd March 08 - A note on the Northerner...
Just a quick note to those interested. Although the Alps are billed as a Greenwich quartet (which we are as thats where we've all lived for the past 10 years), Daniel is originally from Bridlington Yorkshire which is why he sounds northern, Sam is originally from Essex but grew up in Hastings which is also where Dave originates from and Hezi comes from Israel. There you are, sorry for any confusion.
Further proof of Dan's northern origins can be found in this article from The Brid Free Press!

I have made a blog! check it out here. i'll be trying to update it with trivial ramblings once a week, big news will still appear here as it comes in.
29th May 2007
We've just posted our brand new single hunted and haunted on myspace. Its due out 2nd July, head over there for a preview listen and let us know what you think.
From January to now (May 2007)
New news at last! Sorry we've been so quiet of late. Its been a very busy time for the alps and we've shamefully neglected our site and you lot like children grown bored with their toys. We will try and be better about this in the future and we are very sorry for our tardiness. Myspace has a lot to answer for.
Over the last 6 months we have been hard at work furiously raising cash with which to record our debut album. This process is actually well under way and we've already got the bulk of the cash raised but we need more. The best news is that we're recording the album with one of our favourite producers of all time Dave Allen and his right hand man Mark Ralph the former being the Cure's producer on Disintegration, Wish and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me amongst other amazing works. Mark Ralph has worked on loads of stuff including a recent Others album and does class remixes with the like of the filthy dukes. A winning combination no?
The first single from the album will be 'Hunted and Haunted' and will be available as a download only track with a penned in release date of 2nd July 07. We'll be starting work on the promotion for this very soon and will be embarking on a country wide tour from June onwards. Dates will appear on Myspace as time goes on. We're also in need of some suggestions for the album title... get on myspace and let us know what it should be.
That's all for now. We will be posting more details of the album over the next few weeks along with other news as it happens, promise. alps x

David Hasselhoff was amongst the gig goers last night as the Alps wowed the crowd at the Metro on Oxford Street . The swarve Mr Hasselhoff was flanked by two OAP security guards that have possibly been with him since his days as leather clad 80's heart throb Michael Knight. The Hoff was seen after the show wearing an Alps badge but refused to have his picture taken with fans as news of his presence spread like wild fire though the over excited Metro crowd. Hoff commented to the band as they came off stage that they were 'awesome' and that had come down to the show to see some of London's live music ahead of his guest spot on Jonathan Ross this week. Will he wear the Alps badge??? We will see!
